Dan Porter is the CEO of OMGPOP, a company that makes gaming apps.

At one point he had to make a hard choice. He could close the business or lay some folks off and buy some time in hopes they'd hit with one of their newer games.

Dan played the gamble and let a chunk of his staff go. But it worked. They made a game that turned everything around so hard that Zynga, the leading facebook game making company, came calling with a big fat check.

But before he let his company be bought he re-hired all the people he laid off and put them on the payroll so that when he sold the company they could get a piece.
