Psychiatrist Lynne Fenton was treating James Holmes, the suspect arrested for killing 12 and wounding 58 in a movie theater shooting last month.

She is also part of a university 'threat team' that monitors students with dangerous psyche profiles that could be detrimental to the university.

As head of the team and the person that wrote the 'threat team' policy she's kind of an authority of what constitutes a threat.

Lynne Fenton, in early June, warned fellow 'threat team' members that Holmes might pose a threat. But since he dropped out shortly thereafter they decided not to pursue or inform police because they believed they no longer had control over him.

At the time, they didn't know he's already purchased an assault rifle.

Stories like this and what happened at Penn State only bring home the fact that these powerful academics are in charge of HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of young men and women.

And they are letting us down.

They take our student loan money, extol standards of education, and righteously uphold academic standards.

But they don't refund a damn thing if you can't get a job. Or if your major has no earnings potential. Or...perse...if you go off and kill people and they knew it could happen.

Just sayin'.
