Your Kid Better Be 5 By September 1...Or Else!

Or else he/she's gotta wait another year before they can start Kindergarten. This is a new law before Michigan's legislature.

Why change the date from December 1 to September 1? Because then the state won't have to pay schools for those students providing the state a one-time fiscal year savings of $154 million.

They say they'll use the money to fund future programs to benefit schools. I think parents of toddlers are gonna be pissed they have to wait one more year to put their kid in school instead of damned expensive daycare.
