The saddest part of this story is that someone had to die for this travesty of a situation to get the attention it deserves.

Sixteen year old Amina was forced to marry her rapist by the court in order to resolve the charges of rape against her abuser. Why? To preserve her honor.

That, at least, is the reason behind the law in the first place.

So Amina, while living in the house of her rapist husband, drank rat poison to end her life.

I'm a man and this situation scares me. Something must be done. I have no idea what I can do besides bring attention to it though.
