The guy in the back is PSY (pronounced SIGH) and he's a Korean rapper. He's a little chunky, a little goofy and, apparently, a genius at making a viral video.
His song/video 'Gangnam Style' has been viewed on Youtube nearly 210 million times as of today. It came out on July 15. Of this year. Ten weeks ago.
Naturally, with that kind of popularity it damn near blew up the Korean pop chart. But what, exactly, is a 'Gangnam Style?'
The dance with the two hands bobbing up and down and the other one that looks like you're riding a horse in full gallop? Those are the moves most cited and demonstrated by PSY himself, like he did on Ellen.
And here's a short interview with him on the street in New York on his way to doing something for MTV.
Dude actually went to the Berklee College Of Music. And his song, with Korean lyrics, was #3 on Itunes at the time. My, we truly are becoming a global society. Of goofs.
Oh, and how about a guest spot on Saturday Night Live?
