(Detroit, MI) -- The three candidates for governor on the Democratic ticket held their first forum with voters Sunday in Detroit. In front of about 90 people at Cobo Center, Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero, state House Speaker Andy Dillon and state Representative Alma Wheeler Smith laid out their positions. Over the weekend, state Democrats endorsed Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton for attorney general and Wayne State University professor Jocelyn Benson for secretary of state. The convention endorsements will most likely become official during the state convention in August. Republicans will make their endorsements for those two state offices at their party convention in August.
