LANSING (WKZO) -- The State Senate has finished its proposed budget for the next year, State Senator Ron Jelinek says it contains no tax increases, but he says the process has a way to go yet before the state has a final budget.
Despite money being short in Lansing, the Three Oaks Republican, and Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, tells us that ways were found to prevent new burdens from falling on taxpayers. Jelinek says that the plan was finished a little ahead of schedule, and he hopes the House can get its plan in place soon, as well. He added that some adjustments may be necessary, however, when a revenue estimating conference happens tomorrow.
