Campaign to Recall Michigan Governor Rick Snyder Gains Steam

MACKINAC ISLAND, MI (WKZO) -- Governor Rick Snyder is on Mackinac Island this week, pushing his mantra of relentless positivism to the Detroit Chamber of Commerce and their annual leadership conference, and urging the rest of the state to change its attitude, lighten up and put on a happy face when it comes to development.

That comes as the polls show he is one of the least popular Governors in the U.S. right now and a grassroots group has started a statewide petition drive to get him booted from office.

Tim Kramer, a local organizer with the recall effort says it’s a grassroots campaign with volunteers in every county, and they are having no problem finding people who are willing to sign.  If you want to sign one of the petitions to recall Governor Rick Snyder, petitions are being made available locally.

Recall petitions are now available at the Antwerp Township Hall and Kalamazoo area Democratic headquarters.  They say anyone that wishes to add their signature to the petition can sign anywhere regardless of what district they're registered in to vote, but anyone wishing to do so must sign in person.

Other recall campaigns are underway, including one for House Speaker Jase Bolger of Marshall.  Any recalls that do get enough valid signatures will be on ballots this November.
