(Lansing, MI) -- A statue of former Detroit mayor and U.S. Senator Zachariah Chandler has returned to Michigan after being in the U.S. Capitol since 1913. Chandler's statue was taken out of DC to make room for a statue of former President Gerald Ford. The ten thousand-pound statue is now in Lansing. Plans were initially to have the statue at the Detroit Historical Museum, but it was too large and too heavy.
