Those detained are believed to be behind the leak of naked photos of actress Scarlett Johansson, which were illegally obtained via her cell last month (Sep11).

The investigation has been ongoing for a year, according to the Los Angeles Times, and was dubbed Operation Hackerazzi.

The victims in the investigation and those arrested have not been named but a press conference is scheduled for Wednesday (12Oct11) to discuss the case further.

Several celebrities have had data breached in the past 18 months.
