CHICAGO (WKZO) - The surging Detroit Tigers continued their run to the AL Central title Tuesday, as they shut out the Chicago White Sox 5-0. Tiger ace Justin Verlander won his 23rd game, and Victor Martinez hit a three-run home run in the 6th inning to help pace Detroit, which has now won 11 straight games and has a magic number of 3. The Tigers will go for another sweep Wednesday afternoon, with broadcast time on AM 590 WKZO set for 1:45 pm.
