FLINT (WKZO) -- Three Flint business owners face up to ten years in prison if convicted of fraud in connection with illegal food stamp use. Paul Verdun, Reginald Clements and Beverly Biggs-Leavy are accused of paying Bridge Card users a percentage of the value of their assistance in cash, and then using the Bridge Cards themselves.
Verdun and Clemens allegedly illegally used the cards to buy supplies for their businesses, Chip's Shrimp and Fish, and Chip's Supper Club. Biggs-Leavy is accused of fraudulently using the card for buying food for her catering business.
