GRAND HAVEN (WKZO) -- Muskegon attorney Chris Houghtaling won't be on the ballot for an open Ottawa County District Judge position. He lives in Grand Haven and did not have enough valid signatures on the petitions turned in, falling six short.
State election officials say Houghtaling submitted one-thousand-five petition signatures, but two had the wrong address of voters and nine others were incorrectly dated. The Board of State Canvassers will likely toss several more candidates off the ballot when they meet Wednesday, including Congressman Thaddeus McCotter of suburban Detroit.
