LANSING (WKZO) -- State Representative Lisa Brown said the word "vagina" on the floor of the state House in expressing opposition to abortion-related legislation last week, and was temporarily silenced by House Republicans, who refused to recognize her on the floor the following day.  Six days later, she stood on the Capitol steps and took part in the Vagina Monologues.

House Speaker Jase Bolger aid Ari Adler says Republican leadership disagreed with the use of the phrase "no means no" in reference to the legislation behing debated.  Democratic State Senator Gretchen Whitmer says she doesn't believe that was their motivation, stating the reasons given have changed often enough to cast doubt on any official statement.
