LANSING, Mich (WLMI) We could see record-setting temperatures today in mid-Michigan.  Forecasts are calling for highs around 98-degrees—the heat index could push that to over 100. Heat advisories have been issued throughout the state--the DEQ has also issued an Air Quality Alert.  Residents are being asked to refrain from gassing up their vehicles or using gas-powered equipment today to reduce ozone levels.  Cooling centers are expected to be open today around the mid-Michigan area for those without air conditioning.   The heat wave is expected to continue through Saturday.
