ANN ARBOR (WKZO) -- Saying that he's frustrated with Congress, a 25-year-old University of Michigan graduate student plans on challenging Representative John Dingell for his Congressional seat. Daniel Marcin is filing petitions with almost twice the requisite number of signatures to the Secretary of State, in the hope of adding his name to the Democratic primary ballot.
Marcin takes on the 85-year-old Dingell, who is the longest-running member of the House of Representatives. If Dingell defeats Marcin and is re-elected for his 30th term he will become the longest serving member of Congress in June of 2013.
