LANSING, Mich (WLMI) One man is facing charges after his arrest during a protest of a state auction of oil and mineral rights in Lansing. Protesters gathered about two hours before the auction began at the state Capitol, saying they are afraid those who won the auctions would start fracking. That is the process of drilling down and then sideways to extract natural gas. The fear the process will result in soil and water contamination.
