DETROIT (WKZO) -- New charges were filed in Federal court in Detroit Wednesday against former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. Kilpatrick faces federal civil charges for his alleged role in a scheme involving the city's public employee pension funds.
According to the filing, Kipatrick and former city treasurer Jeff Beasley received 125-thousand dollars worth of private jet travel and other perks from an investment firm. The two in turn, allegedly convinced the city's pension fund to invest with that firm.
