ALLEGAN COUNTY (WKZO) A sharp eyed Allegan County Deputy is getting credit for breaking up a shoplifting ring, and he did it far from any store or mall.
The deputy had remembered the description of a vehicle seen leaving the Crossroads Mall after goods were stolen. He spotted the car Saturday evening in Leighton Township and pulled it over.
On board were five people and merchandise worth about $2-thousand-dollars that had been taken from the Crossroads and the Rivertown Mall in Grandville. They couldn’t produce receipts.
The merchandise was logged in, recorded and returned to the stores. The five on board were all charged with receiving and concealing stolen property and may face additional charges.
