WATERVLIET( WKZO) -- Congressman Fred Upton had a personal look Wednesday at some of the disastrous damage done to Southwest Michigan apples, grapes, cherries, apricots and other fruits. Farmers' crops are suffering on a large scale due to the spring-like weather experienced in the early month of March followed by freezing temperatures in April.
After the tours, Upton spoke at Jon Hinkleman's farm in Watervliet to a group of farm industry workers about the federal role in assisting with the disaster. Watch above for video of Upton from the forum.
