UNDATED -- It’s been a weekend for fundraisers in Mid-Michigan. 14-hundred took part in Ele’s Race, a 5-k that has been held in Okemos every year for the last decade to raise money for Ele’s Place, a facility to help grieving children deal with the loss of family members.
They raised about $70-thousand.
The Make-a-Wish foundation was the beneficiary of a 300 mile bicycle race from Traverse City to the Michigan International Speedway. The winners were greeted by thousands of people.
Firefighters in Meridian Township held their annual “fill-the-boot” campaign to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy. They camped out at the corner of Okemos and Hamilton roads and took donations from passing motorists. Their goal was to raise 17-thousand dollars.
