Jimmy Howard was tough in goal as the Red Wings beat the Colorado Avalanche 2-1 last night at Joe Louis Arena.  Howard made 15 saves in the third period and 36 overall, and Johan Fanzen and Niklas Kronwall both lit the lamp for Detroit, giving the Wings their third win in five games.  The Red Wings are off today, but return to the ice tomorrow night as they host the Edmonton Oilers.
