DETROIT (WKZO) -- Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has been found guilty of more than two-dozen federal charges in Detroit.
Kilpatrick and contractor Bobby Ferguson were both found guilty of the most serious charges of racketeering and extortion punishable by 20-years-in prison. The two are also guilty of numerous counts of extortion, bribery, mail fraud and tax fraud.Kilpatrick's father, Bernard Kilpatrick, was found guilty of one charge of tax fraud. After hearing nearly five-months of testimony, the jury in the case deliberated for 13-days. They came to unanimous decisions in 40 of the 45 charges levied against the defendants.
