Morrissey has had his own health problems to deal with over the last few months, but on Wednesday the singer took time out to respond to the recent death of one of his superfans, Margaret Dale .
In an open letter posted on fansite True-to-You.net , Morrissey explains that while he didn’t know Dale “on a personal level,” he always respected her dedication to his music.
“She was always there on the front row -- the U.K., the U.S., Israel -- wherever we'd go, she'd go,” he wrote. “Last week Margaret drove behind the tour bus all the way from Davis to Seattle, and managed to get onstage at Davis. I had signed her arm and it was now a tattoo.”
The singer adds that Dale was “a woman of action” and he hopes that her death “yields the profit of rest, and somehow provides her with a listener.”
