DETROIT (WKZO) -- General Motors is posting an eleven-percent U.S. sales increase for April over the same period a year ago. All four GM brands posted increases for the month.
Large pickup sales were up by 23-percent, SUV's by 17-percent and sales of crossovers increased by 14-percent. Car sales were up by six-percent. Strong sales of the all-new Chevrolet Spark and double-digit sales increases for the Buick Verano, the Chevrolet Sonic and the Chevrolet Cruze drove a 31-percent increase in sales of GM mini, small and compact cars.
"We're very optimistic because GM's market share is growing," says Vice President Kurt McNeil. "The economy continues to move forward and important car and truck launches are just getting underway."
