If you yell at Fiona Apple during her concerts, there’s a good chance you may be asked to leave. The singer stopped her performance at the Newmark Theater in Portland, Oregon on Thursday so she could eject a fan who made a comment about her appearance.
According to Stereogum.com , 90-minutes into her show, someone seated in the first balcony yelled out, “Fiona! Get healthy! We want to see you in 10 years!” Upset by the comment, Apple spewed venom at the fan, replying, “I am healthy! Who the f**k do you think you are? I want you to get the f**k out of here. I want the house lights on so I watch you leave!” Shortly after, the house light came on and the fan left, but not before yelling out one last comment: “I saw you 20 years ago and you were beautiful!”
Apple was has shaken by the exchange, but she was able to finish her show. The singer has had a few onstage meltdowns in the past, both at award shows and at concerts. The incident occurred less than two months after Apple threw a fit on stage at a Louis Vuitton party in Tokyo because she was upset with the noise level of the crowd.
